Yeah, I am so excited. Our computer suddenly started telling us that it was corrupted when we would turn it on so we have been without our computer for weeks while my dad (what a wonderful guy he is, my hero) fixed it for us. We just got it back and finally I can make a new post!
Travis finally started the 2008 Swim Season and I must say, he is an amazing coach! He works the kids to death trying to get them into shape and things have been going so well. He has had two meets already and his teams have been performing excellently. Their first meet was against Fountain Valley which is a top ten ranked team for both boys and girls. His girls tried their best, but the other team just consistently out performed them. Their team was just better, but the girls definitely gave them some competition. The boys, however, did a great job and ended up winning. It all came down to the final relay and the boys pulled out a win. It was so much fun to watch! Their next meet was against Marina. This time Travis' team won by a considerable amount. He had several kids make new school records and get qualifying times for the big CIF competition at the end of the year. His boys have also been named the number ten team in Orange County! I have truly enjoyed sitting in the stands and rooting for the kids. I know that Travis can be overwhelmed at times but I am really enjoying being his cheerleader! Here are some pictures from the meet:
Here is the Head Coach. Doesn't he look so handsome? This is what they wear to the meets. They look so nice.
This is where they sit to watch the kids swim. He has three other coaches that work with him and they are a great support to him. He has one coach that works with him and then a coach for Junior Varsity and then a coach for Frosh/Soph.
This is their super nice pool with some swimmers swimming the backstroke. I have become quite the swim expert now and I am looking forward to watching our kids swim (cause you know they are going to).
Here are the boys getting ready to start. Very exciting! :)
Travis likes to pace back and forth during certain swims where he is trying to encourage the kids to go faster. He keeps their times and yells at them to keep them going. This is my favorite part to watch. It is just so obvious how much he cares about these kids!Well, that is what Travis has been up to. I am just relaxing and waiting patiently for this baby to continue to grow. Everything has been going really well so far. We have an appointment on March 25 and we should find out what we are having! We can't wait. :)
